Day 32....Arriverderci Roma...Ciao Tobin James and Team...

Rome was 100 degrees yesterday, and the expected temperature today was no cooler...What a great time to get on a bus and get our of town....which is why we get to say....Arrividerci Roma...with joy!

This photo is critical for a few reasons...the first is that we have just arrived at the port...and the most important is that Peggy was amazing at getting us the front seat of a 55 person bus.  A 1 1/2 hour ride through and then out of the crazy streets of Rome...if I were sitting in the back or even middle, life would have been less pleasant.  But front row was a breeze, especially since we were also right next to the air conditioning vent:)))  This "yacht" is the largest sailboat in the world...or so they say...

In case anyone might forget who was sponsoring this trip....
As we departed the port of Civitivecchia, we passed a number (5 or 6) incredibly larger cruise ships...Ours had 250 people vs. 2500
Yacht logistics were incredibly smooth, especially being #1 off the bus....we were through check in and into our lower deck cabin in short order...This is a view from our lower deck cabin....we are pretty close to water level....
But no worries, Peggy and I each have our own unopenable porthole...
By 5 pm we had already befriended some folks from Fresno, from Visalia and the Fresno folks had relatives that lived off Joe Rodgers...go figure....Peggy is relaxing with a sunsetting view
Rick Moonen will be serving his special 2 dinners on Monday and Wednesday...Tonight we found the elegant option and enjoyed some quality cuisine...Mine was lamb and very yummy...
Peggy had a great fish stew....By the way, did I mention they were serving Dusi Zin or Pinot all inclusive...
On Sunday morning, after breakfast, we got on the tender, to make our way to port city #1...Sorrento.  The back of our ship drops down and offers trampolines and other water sports like Kayaking...which we may do upon our return to the ship.  By the Way, internet coats $1 per minute on board...but it is free in this little cafe in Sorrento....so don't be looking for daily updates...I'll be able to blog when we are in ports of call.... Some folks went to Pompeii, others to Herculeum and since we had "been there, done that" we are relaxing in town...and then heading back to yachtsville....
Here's a nice view of the 5 masted, sailing "yacht"..

Tomorrow... the Isle of Capri...with the Blue Grotto and then on to Sicily and the town of Taormina.  Perhaps a blog between now and then...but no promises...as much as we love our worldwide readership, we do have a cruise to enjoy after all.....Ciao for now....we love you all...
